A Chippendale dive bar with genuine community love and a five-year-old identity that had stopped doing the work. The regulars knew it. The locals walking past didn't stop. This was a self-directed rebrand - the venue is real, the brief was ours.

Challenge: The existing brand was scattered - multiple logo variations, no consistent colour story, collateral that read more like an afterthought than an invitation. The venue had real personality, a loyal crowd and an upstairs gallery that nobody knew about. The brand wasn't reflecting any of it, and in a strip with three other pubs within five minutes, that was starting to cost them.

Solution: The rebrand kept what was working - the low-key, slightly chaotic energy - and gave it a system. Bespoke display type with a psychedelic, hand-worn feel replaced the generic wordmark. A sunglasses-wearing possum mascot became the hero device, flexible enough to carry across the logo, stickers, coasters and apparel without feeling like clipart. Teal and lime carried across every touchpoint: menus, burger bags, staff aprons and tees. The "Your Sneaky Snack Dealer" apron line isn't in the brand guidelines - it's the brand.
